Friends of Hue Staff Members

Our Children’s Shelter at Xuan Phu has taken in children who have lost their parents or whose parents are unable to properly provide for them due to extreme poverty or medical problems. The shelter aims at providing not only the educational and economic resources the children need to succeed, but also the care and moral conscience that will allow them to become proactive community leaders.

Friends of Hue is partnered with Thriive to offer an alternative microfinance program in which equipment capital is given to local businesses. Repayment of the loan comes in the form of these businesses donating goods or services to other members of the community who need them. Capital and compassion serve as the two driving forces of Thriive’s initiatives.

The Health Initiatives encompasses both our Mobile Clinic Program (MCP) and our Health Initiative through Peer Education program (HIPE). While MCP addresses the immediate medical needs in remote regions surrounding Hue, HIPE hopes to instill both healthy sanitation habits in rural communities and leadership in the youth of Hue.
